The Xemu development team has acknowledged the existence of this port but asserted that they are currently preparing an official Android version, which will be released for free. Therefore, the paid version of the X1 Box is considered to be losing its relevance.
Interestingly, the free version of the X1 Box has also been leaked on GitHub, further confusing the situation for users.
Performance Remains Unstable
Although it can now run on Android devices, the emulator’s performance is far from perfect. Based on community testing, including that of the YouTube channel Retro Game Corps, various issues are still frequently encountered.

To use this emulator, users can’t just start playing. Several important files are required, such as:
- MCPX boot ROM
- Xbox BIOS
- Hard disk image
- Game dump file
Without these components, the emulator won’t run.
Expectations for the Official Version of Xemu
Currently, Xemu is available on platforms like Windows, macOS, and Linux with more mature performance. The official Android version, currently under development, is expected to provide a more stable and legal experience.
The X1 Box does open up new opportunities for fans of classic Xbox games to play on Android. However, with various performance issues and licensing controversies, users should be cautious before trying the paid version.
